I have authored a number of walking guides for Countryside Books of Newbury, mostly as part of a series of pub walks books. My interest in steam railways and photography has led me to prepare a guide to following steam railways in the southern counties - including Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Shropshire and Worcestershire. The walker is led along public footpaths as close as possible to the railways in one direction (for good 'photo opportunities') and encouraged to take to the train in the other. The walks vary in length from 2.5 to 5.5 miles. It is hoped that those enjoying the walks would consider making a donation to Railway Children, an international charity that fights for vulnerable children who live alone and at risk on the streets. The web address for donations is http://railwaychildren.org.uk/donate.
I would also greatly welcome feedback from anyone attempting the walks.
